Travelling
Foreign visitors should arrive
to the Sao Paulo International Airport (Guarulhos = GRU), not to the
Rio de Janeiro International Airport. The distance between Sao Paulo
and Rio de Janeiro is about 300 miles. Most international flights
arrive directly to Sao Paulo.
Participants from some countries will need a visa when entering in
Brazil. Please find out in a Embassy or Consulate what are the
conditions for obtaining a visa to Brazil. Some information may be
found also at the
Brazilian Consulate web address.
If you need an Invitation Letter to attend the Conference,
send to us an
e-mail
message,
please. In the message express exactly what you need, please. If, for
example, the invitation letter should also be sent to an Embassy or
Consulate directly by fax, please include the corresponding address and
fax number. It will help a lot if you send us the exact text of the
required letter.
The
Brazilian currency
is called "Real" (the plural form is "Reais"), its symbol is R$. The
exchange rate flutuates a lot, but it is not very different
from
US$1 = R$2. It is possible to exchange dollars or euros for reais at
the airport. Some international credit cards (Visa and Mastercard) are
well accepted in hotels, shops and restaurants in Brazil, with no
additional taxes. ATM facilities are also very common in Brazil.
