I don’t ever remember seeing so many commercials about teeth bleaching. Selling teeth bleaching products has become a major business of late, with lots of companies getting into the act.
If you check the ingredients of commercial teeth bleaching products, you are going to see some very familiar products from around the house that are used in the manufacturing of these often expensive oral care remedies.
Here’s an idea. Why not try some natural methods of teeth bleaching first, and see how well they work? All you have to lose is the money it will cost you to buy the expensive commercial products.
You can start out by using avoiding fluoride. That stuff that is so acclaimed to stop cavities yellows teeth severely.
Next, make your own toothpaste by combining hydrogen peroxide and baking soda. These are two of the main ingredients you will find being used in those high-priced products for teeth bleaching.
Make a gargle out of bicarbonate of soda and use it prior to brushing your teeth, even in you insist on continuing to use store bought toothpaste.
Now, it is important to remember that none of the previous or following processes is going to work over night. Neither do the commercial teeth bleaching products turn your teeth white instantly. Whatever you ultimately decide to try, give it a good two weeks and see if you notice a difference. Your teeth may still not be pearly white, but after two weeks there should be a noticeable reduction in the yellowing of your teeth. If your teeth bleaching process is working, just keep doing it. Eventually, your teeth will reach their whitest potential. That potential may never be perfectly glimmering, but it will be a dramatic improvement.
Rubbing your teeth daily with strawberries or walnut tree bark is supposed to remove stains. I am sure that one tastes much better than the other. You pick.
Brushing your teeth with apple cider vinegar and rubbing them with orange peel is supposedly a valid natural teeth bleaching procedure. This, again, leaves a little to be desired on the taste end of things.
We’ve all seen the plastic denture sets that you can slip over your teeth for whitening or the tape that you apply and leave on overnight for teeth bleaching. The homemade variant of that treatment is to spread a baking soda and peroxide mix onto aluminum foil and press the foil over your teeth. Let this dental apparatus on for about an hour before brushing your teeth. Repeat the process twice weekly for eight weeks and see how much whiter your teeth become.
Brushing your teeth with lemon drops is supposed to help as well. Try to avoid naturally staining foods and beverages like coffee, tea, red wine, beef, and tomato sauce. Avoid smoking, as it is not only unhealthy for you, but it stains your teeth badly. Also, be certain to brush after every meal, as avoiding the build up of food particles and plaque aids greatly in the teeth bleaching process.
